PlayStation TV Compatible Games (North America)

PSTV

The PlayStation TV is a niche within a niche, and there’s always been some confusion about what PS Vita, PSP, PS One, and PS Mobile games will actually run on the system.  Combining SIEA’s outdated “official” list on PSN to the fact that compatibility can very depending on what region the game came from, it’s just a bit mess of confusion for most. Not to mention that the PSTV gets updates and new information every few days, while many people think nothing’s been made compatible for months.

The team over at Vita Player is working hard to keep people in Europe updated with a go-to list of games available on the micro-console.  Just as their team did, I began this list for North America game compatibility, but also include a large number of Japanese and Asia-region games as well.

Before going onto the actual list, there is one thing I’d like to get out there.  I’ve been questioned a lot lately on Twitter, being asked for sources for my updates.  So, I’d like to take a moment to tell you how I find this information.  There are basically 3 main methods to find out compatibility information that I use.  They are as follows:

  1. I email the publishers for every PS Vita release, inquiring about PSTV Compatibility, and much of the time, get the answers straight from them
  2. Box Art often will have a logo on the front, confirming PSTV Compatibility in North America, while most compatible Japanese games will have a PS Vita TV logo on the back of the box.
  3. Official Websites for many games will include the PSTV/PS Vita TV in the product section where it lists what platforms a game is coming to.

And, of course, I also have my own personal testing and the countless community resources that give me a hand.  But, that should give you an idea of how I get the info, and how much time I put into this list for the fun of it.  I go on hour-long hunts through websites, GameFAQs Release Date Lists, and Play-Asia’s entire PS Vita database every few days, trying to find this info out.

This originally started on my forum, but has been a major part of my site since February 2015.  Without further delay, here is my official list of North America games compatible with the PlayStation TV!

*Do note that if anything in this list is meant for a game version from another region, I will make note of it

Here is how this list is to be laid out.  I shall still link off to Sony’s official list.  But this list contains all games that are compatible (that I know of).  This includes Sony’s Official List as well as all games to my knowledge that are not in their list that are compatible, whether they’ve been patched or new releases.

Do note that I have tested most but not all of these games.  If you come across something in this list that doesn’t work for the US Region, email me at Trent@reviews2go.com and let me know so I can test and edit the list.

Also, a * represents a game that is listed in the PS Mobile store and developers have confirmed to work but I have not personally tested.

Atelier Rorona works. You have to download it from your purchase history, but it works. Wish I thought to take a picture of me playing on my TV the other day.

    • http://psreviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

Thanks a bunch. I’ll add it to the list.

      • Lester Paredes

        Photographic evidence!

  • Nonscpo

Wait Ragnarok Odyssey is listed but not Ragnarok Odyssey Ace? With all the recent sales going on for the PSTV, there’s no excuse as to why not own one, in fact everyone should be like…

    • http://psreviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

Thanks for pointing that out. I have tested Ace. I’ll add it to the list right now 🙂

    • Lester Paredes

I just bought ACE because it dropped to $20! It’s getting delivered on Friday!

      • Nonscpo

Did you try out the demo? Cause I wasn’t a fan of the demo.

        • Lester Paredes

I have. It was competent. Reminded me a lot of a faster, more combo heavy version of Monster Hunter. I’m okay with that.

          • Nonscpo

Cool hope you enjoy the game then!

  • Dave Mckee

Fantastic list, thank you for all; the effort you put in compiling it.

  • http://brainbandits.com/news KINGGS

this list is great, as is the rest of the site. I’m really impressed by how much you’ve done on your own here.

Is there any way you can possibly tell us what you added for each update (or the latest update). If that isn’t too much trouble, anyway.

    • http://psreviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

I have implemented an update section. I don’t know the updates off my head other than yesterday and today. But I’ll include all future updates in notes on that section. Just click on update history and it’ll expand.

      • http://brainbandits.com/news KINGGS

        good stuff man, thanks.

  • Lester Paredes

I’m sad to report that Syphon Filter Dark Mirror does not work. I found out the hard way. Sigh. You may want to remove it from the list. I tried going through my download list in the psn store on Vita TV, and I tried transferring it from my PS3 to the PSTV via content manager. Unless, there I a process I’m unaware of?

    • http://psreviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

I am not aware of another process. I’ll update the list ASAP. Thank you.

  • Mat Lopez

I know this is a random one but does anyone know if any of the Spyro games on PS One work? I have purchased them on PSN.

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

Afraid not. Just like the Vita, they cannot be downloaded or transferred onto the PlayStation TV. Not yet, anyways.

  • Ncoop

just wondering have you imported Sword art online Lost song and tried it?also do you think ps tv is worth getting over a vita if i don’t plan on playing the vita any where, except for at home?

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

I haven’t tried it but I’ll see if I can find someone who has the game and has tested it to confirm. Though I am planning on getting the Asia release in May.

  • tattsun

sorry for this dumb question is that list apply for physical cartridge of vita too or only digital version of it works

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

No worries. I’ve yet to hear or test something that didn’t work for both formats. So they should all work be it retail or digital.

      • tattsun

        Thank you

  • Ncoop

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3OADMxIeXsQ

in the comments he says it works for pstv

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

Only thing is that he based in London in EU. So that would be good for an EU PSTV List, but not NA since compatibility isn’t the same between NA and EU.

  • deusfaux

Sony’s current official list is basically missing a like of Konami games. Apart from Castlevania SoTN and MGS VR Missions, no MGS, no Silent Hill, no Suikoden, no Castlevania… Is that accurate or not?

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

As I said on Reddit just now, you can use the PS3 Transfer method to move Silent Hill and Metal Gear Solid onto your PSTV and they will launch and run fine.

I’m going to record and post gameplay videos of the games running on it later today on my channel.

      • deusfaux

Could you also mark all the relevant games that need this method on your list please?

        • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

Sure thing. I will update the list in a few minutes with all the games I know of that require this method.

  • BLW92

Not sure how much you care about adding JP VNs to your list but I can confirm Chaos;Head Dual, Fate/Stay Night, Fate/Hollow Ataraxia, Grisaia no Kajitsu, Grisaia no Meikyuu, Grisaia no Rakuen, Little Busters! Converted Edition, Rewrite and Robotics;Notes Elite all work on my NA PSTV

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

If they work on an NA unit, why not? I do have a few Japanese cartridge games in the list already (Digimon, PS Nova, Tales of Innocence) I’ll throw them into the list today.

      • BLW92

Ok, sweet. I wasn’t sure since those don’t seem to absolutely require Japanese fluency to enjoy. You misspelled Ataraxia and didn’t include Grisaia no Rakuen (which hopefully will see a NA release on vita soon along with the others in the trilogy). Anyway, thanks. This site’s more comfortable to navigate than the Wikipedia page.

        • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

Fixed. And no worries. I have other Japan cartridge games, so I don’t see why it could hurt to add them to the list. I’m trying to make it as updated as possible. It’s already more updated than SCEA’s List and the Wiki list.

          But it’s a constant work-in-progress.

  • Neil Kapit

Great list. As far as PS3 Transfers go, does Peace Walker work on the PS TV? And what about Dracula X Chronicles?

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

Peace Walker can be downloaded directly from PSN but it won’t launch. Same with DxC.

      • Neil Kapit

well, &*^@#&*(@#^*(@#^*) (#@). but thank you.

  • Aaron Arnold

Puyo Puyo Tetris (Japan Cartridge-import) works

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

Thank you, sir! The list shall be updated in a moment.

  • jwhyrock

So I didn’t see the Vita game Ys Memories Of Celceta listed, and on the UK list it said incompatible. I assume that’s a no? =(

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

It has not yet been updated with PSTV support.

  • jwhyrock

Do we know anything about Kings Field?

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

Unknown atm. I don’t own it to test.

  • Aaron Arnold

I’m fairly certain Sasuke vs Commander doesn’t work in the Minis section. i bought it during the SNK sale and It doesn’t allow for direct download nor can you transfer from a PS3.

  • jwhyrock

Another one I don’t see is either Dungeon Explorer game. Also a no?

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

I don’t own them so i don’t have them to test.

  • CrazyCr33per U.S

    Is Terraria Compatible ???

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

Not as of yet. But I have it downloaded on my Memory Card and check it regularly. If it gets updated, it’ll get in this list ASAP

  • http://batman-news.com Andres Fernandez

    Are the following games compatible?
    Modnation Racers Roadtrip
    Resistance Burning Skies
    Metal Gear Solid HD Collection
    Jak & Daxter Collection
    Ratchet & Clank Collection
    The Sly Collection
    Silent Hill Origins
    Silent Hill Shattered Memories
    Silent Hill Book of Memoirs

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

Not as of yet. I’ve tested all of those recently and they won’t launch.

      • http://batman-news.com Andres Fernandez

Thanks. Hopefully they patch them up in the future. The list is not bad though as of now.

Yeah I saw that later …

Why wouldn’t you make all the vita games compatible? That would make more sense than giving us just some. I bought the ps TV so I could play my vita games on a full scree. What a waste I’m gonna probably just return it this is a joke of an idea.

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

Because many Vita games utilize handheld features the PSTV is not capable of and therefore must be reprogrammed by the developers to be made to work.

      • Jeff Boisseau

Still think they should have made it work even if they made it so the ps4 controller pad to make the other games work would have made more sense than making it a waste of money. Definitely going to return it. Not even worth it games I have do not require the toutch screen and they don’t work with so explain that one.

        • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

Many think that it’s also a matter of licensing. Like how many PSP games don’t work on the Vita because they’re not licensed for both systems. So the inclusion of the PlayStation TV being a different system would increase those complications for both Vita and backwards compatible games.

That would be a matter of getting developers for hundreds of games (some devs which don’t exist anymore) to re-license the games for the PSTV.

Disgaea 3 now PSTV compatible. YAY there is some hope. Now I hope someone gets Rebirth:1 working

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

Disgaea 3 doesn’t work as of yet (for me). I’ve spoken to Idea Factory about Rebirth 1 and they’ve said that it is something they plan to do, but couldn’t give me any sort of ETA

  • Elbie

    Injustice?

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

I just double-checked and it still is not compatible.

  • W Van Landingham III

I have a Vita, got a PS TV for my one bedroom, then got another – and instead of working I’m getting an error saying I’ve activated too many devices. Seriously Sony? What a complete and total joke they are, just never seem to have anything but problems with Sony anymore.

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

How many handheld devices do you have on your account? You can have 3 handheld devices active on one account. That includes PS Vita units, PSTV units, and PSP units. If you had any previous units you never deactivated, they still count towards that 3.

      • W Van Landingham III

Exactly, the PSP I bought in 2005 and got rid of in 2009 is using up an activation. Sony’s activation methods are idiotic and archaic, seemingly like most things Sony has done in the last few years. I’m not a Sony hater, I’ve owned every PS they’ve made, and apparently because of that I’m being punished. Thanks for the response though.

        • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

It was likely there to limit game sharing which was pretty commonly used on PS3. But you should just be able to log into your account on the PlayStation website and remove the psp. If not you can ask Sony support to do so for you.

          • W Van Landingham III

No, you can’t just remove it yourself and when you use the form to ask Sony to remove it for you they require the serial number of the device, which I haven’t had in 6 years. It’s an amazingly backwards system. Again thanks for the feedback, just expressing my frustration with them and their process making it much more difficult than it ever should have been.

          • John

I had the exact same problem at one point… You CAN do it, you have to deactivate ALL active devices linked to your account at once from the PlayStation website, then manually reactivate any devices you want to use. It’s a pain to do but that’s how I got mine to work.

          • W Van Landingham III

Yeah I saw that option, it requires setting everything – again its just an unnecessary pain for a device that isn’t going to be doing anything other than streaming content from a PS4, you can’t even get that working succesfully without it being activated – it doesn’t give you an activation error it just doesn’t work at all. I really wish Sony would modernize the way it does licenses, Netflix doesn’t care I have 13 devices signed into my account, it just cares limits what I can stream to 2 devices. When Sony is punishing you for something you purchased a decade ago, they got their system wrong.

But thanks for the response, I know you’re just trying to be helpful and it’s what I’ll have to do when I get around to it, just not very happy with the way Sony works lately.

Ok cool, I just got the pstv yesterday. They’re not in any of the lists in the psn store. But I have been really wanting to play those games again. So thank you very much for replying 🙂 I can’t wait until skull girls comes out for vitv/pstv

        • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

That’s because sonys list isn’t accurate. Unfortunately my list is the only accurate one currently on the web for North America.

          • Hunter Williams

I have notice, thank you for putting in the hard time to making sure it all works 🙂 this list was what got me to dicide to get the pstv.

    • Zymesh

i got Star wars battlefront 2 when it was on sale a few weeks ago. I downloaded it via web and it appeared on the download list via PSTV. I checked Trents list. Good job on the list Trent.
Is there a list for couch coop 2 players for PSTV? i know psone classics work. what about psp and vita game?

  • Justin

Does One Piece Unlimited World Red work when using the cartridge?

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

Compatibility should be the same between digital and retail, so it should.

      • Justin

Thanks I have been using this system for awhile now and never heard of this game. I know they have it for digital download but I like the physical games. I saw the “Day One” edition cartridge on Amazon and it seems that it’s kind of hard to find that’s why I was wondering.

  • Justin

How does MLB 15 work? It’s not on the PS store and they don’t sell a physical cartridge?

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger
      • Justin

I just meant its not listed on the PS store when you go to the store on the Playstion TV under “games for the PlayStation TV” wasn’t sure it would work.

        • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

The PSTV’s store’s been a little wonky and glitchy since Day 1. The Vita’s store isn’t super awesome either. But it’s a reasonable worry. That’s one reason it’s good that my list is around.

I’ve personally tested MLB 15 so I know it does work.

          • Justin

Thanks for the quick response. I have 14 on the cartridge…I just didn’t want to download something I can’t use as I am in between moving and do not have unlimited internet at the moment. Keep up the good work on the site it has been helpful. Also wish The Wolf Among Us would be playable on here…figure it would be a no brainer as The Walking Dead are playable.

  • Chris Hunter

Does anyone know if The Swindle is ps tv compatible? I have searched online but cant find anything on it either direction. Thanks!

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

I’m waiting to hear back from the developer. I know the Europe version is but waiting for info on the U.S. Version. I’ll let you know.

      • Chris Hunter

Thank you very much for checking up on this. I know it is cross by on PS4, PS3 and PS Vita, and if it works on TV it would be the straw that would seal the deal for me.

        • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

Just got back with the info. Swindle is definitely PSTV compatible

          • Chris Hunter

That sealed the deal. I purchased The Swindle and can verify that it is ps TV compatible. Thanks so much for looking into this. I am LOVING my PSTV!

  • NegaScott128

Can you please check the MGS HD Collection and Peace Walker? I kinda suspected the HD Collection wouldn’t be compatible, but it seems odd that Peace Walker wouldn’t be.

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

I checked both a couple days ago. Neither work still. Though I have sent some emails to Konami and armature regarding making them compatible.

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

I’ve contacted Konami regarding this just last week and am awaiting them to get back with me. Way forward had gotten back with me saying it was konamis decision.

  • Zymesh

Anyone know if PsOne classics can access another games save data? Suikoden 1 and Suikoden 2 has this feature. If you have a save game of Suikoden 1, you will get extras in Suikoden 2 like characters and such.

    • DVD_Sandwich

Yes, but you’ll have to use the memory card utility to import the savedata from the other game.

  • Cameron Ward

Well, that sucks. Valkyrie Profile Lenneth is not playable…

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

Nope. It never released on PSN.

Does spelunky and soul sacrifice delta really work

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

I have played SS Delta on my PSTV many times. Yes, it really works. I don’t own spelunky but everyone I’ve heard from regarding it have confirmed that it works as well.

  • Mario Aguilar

So, I download the games on the list to my Ps Vita and then I put the memory on PS TV with the same account and I’ll be able to play them?

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

      Yup.

      • Mario Aguilar

  • David Gordon

some of those games are not compatible

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

Which specifically are not? If you know of some that are not compatible in North America, I can re-test them and remove them from the list if they’re not.

(as the header of the article states, I have not tested every single one, so it is always possible there is something in there by mistake that should be corrected)

  • Alec

Still waiting for Lord of Arcana compatibility, sad as it may be for some. You can download it, it just won’t run.

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

Same for me. I’d love to play it on the tv. Especially since the west never got lord of apocalypse

      • Alec

It hopefully should be soon since they got a lot of the digital line up. Here’s to wishful thinking 🙂

  • Carl

I think OlliOlli needs some sort of * or marking setting it aside. The menu will not respond to normal button presses. I had to use the touchpad on my Dualshock 4. I’m assuming that it will not work at all with a Dualshock 3. Although, they may have some sort of work around…

Also, I have the Tetris PS MiniS running on my PSTV. You can’t buy it, I think… But if you already had it, it seems to work just fine.

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

DS3 can use touch controls. It uses that optional feature where you can click L3 or R3 to put touch pointers on the screen.

I see Hyperdimension Rebirth One on the store via playstation TV. And it says some functions may not work with playstation TV, like all the compatible ones do. Is it finally compatible? Or is it just there?

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

Not as far as I know. But I’ll download it and get back with you on whether it really is or isn’t

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

Okay, I downloaded and tested and it still doesn’t work.

      • Louis

Dang, what is idea factory doing? They just need to hurry and make it compatible.

  • Zymesh

walking dead season 2 episode 1(demo) works. The menu loaded fine and i can access the purchase area where you can buy individual episodes of season 2. I did not try the game yet to avoid spoilers. Im assuming season 2 retail could now be working?

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

You’re right. The digital version of Season 2 does work. But I tested the retail release and it still won’t launch at all. No patches or anything.

Updating the list to specify the digital version for sure.

  • Mario Aguilar

Excuse me, is there any difference if I buy physic copies of the games on the list? Or is the same that digital games?

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

In most cases it doesn’t matter. Only case I know of is walking dead season 2. For some reason only the digital copy launches.

      • Mario Aguilar

The fact that Metal Gear, a franchise that has been on Sony’s consoles since the late 90’s, is not supported (aside from MGS1’s VR missions…) is just ridiculous. Not even Peace Walker is on there. Wow.

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

That’s all up to Konami to patch their games to make them compatible, though I dunno what they’d have to do for Peace Walker, since it’s a PSP game.

But MGS1 is also supported, alongside VR Missions. You just need a PS3 transfer to get MGS1 onto a PSTV just like on the Vita.

  • http://www.paulogy.com paulogy.

Other than Helldivers (now that it’s been patched), does anyone know any other 4-player games for PSTV? Worms and Nidhogg would be if you take turns, but I mean simultaneously.

Oh btw The Swapper is on the list twice (great game, though 🙂

  • Trinity

    So wait, PLEASE help clarify.

1). Can I play all my digital PS1 & PS2 classics using this?
2). Can I play Vita titles both digitally AND physically using this?
3). Can I play my digital PS3 games and/or PS3 digital “arcade” PSN games (ie. NFL Blitz, NBA Jam, Pac-Man, Bionic Commando, Wipeout HD) using this?

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

      1) As far as I know, you can play any PS1 Classic that can be downloaded to the Vita. I haven’t encountered one I could download that wouldn’t launch. PS2 Classics is a No, though. The Vita software never was made compatible with PS2 Classics.

      2) Yes, you can. There is a retail slot on the PSTV for PS Vita cartridges

      3) No to digital PS3 games. It can play PS Vita, PSP, PS Mini, and PS1 Classic games. But you can stream PS3 games through the PlayStation Now service.

  • TVippy

How can you possibly play any games with touch controls???

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

The PSTV has Touch Screen Alternative Controls built in. You can use the Dual Shock 4’s touchpad for touch controls. Or, you can enable touch pointers where you tap L3/R3 to put a touch pointer on screen for touch controls.

  • Israel Herison

Does “Back to bed” work for PS TV?

I’m still trying to get that information from the developers. But I’ll let you know as soon as I find out.

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

  • Paulie Vitale

Some psp games don’t show up in pstv store. If I purchase it on web store can I download it to my pstv? Also, Some vita games on the store say not compatible but they are on list. If I download it anyway will it play? Thanks

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

The PSTV store is all glitched up. Some compatible games will say Not Compatible when you try to download them. But if you just hit Okay, it’ll download anyways.

And yes. If you buy a compatible game from the Web Store, it’ll show up in your Download List on the PSTV. I buy most of my games via the Web Store.

For those that have played it or know, I was curious if 2013 Infected Wars could be played with a PS3 controller without having to use the touchpad alternative. I’ve been avoiding games for the PSTV unless I know that they’ll work fine with that controller since I don’t have a PS4 controller yet.

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

No need to worry. I’ve played it on the PSTV and all the menus that used to be touch only can be navigated with buttons on the PSTV. PS3 controller should be fine.

J stars victory vs is compatible or not? The japanese version. Please help..

  • Newbie

Cartridges of ps vita games listed above will work? Please help..

    • alterku

There should be no difference between a cart and a digital copy, aside from region/translation. For example, Monster Monpiece doesn’t work on PSTV natively if you play the import copy, but the censored PSN version does. This list assumes all the NA versions of the games unless specified otherwise I believe.

      • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

That is correct and thanks for catching the comment. I’ve been crazy busy with the PSTV exploit testing and the non-compatible games list that I missed some of those emails.

There are very few instances where retail and digital are different. But the ones I know of I’ve labeled as such, like Walking Dead Season 2 digital working and retail not working.

      • Newbie

If my pstv is region 3 and my cartridge of jstar vs+ is also region 3, will it play? Please help me..

        • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

          It should work.

          • Newbie

            Yeah, thanks..

        • alterku

It’s the release of the game that matters, not the release of your PSTV. The Vita, just like the PSTV, is a region free console, which means it can play any game from any region. The

difference between the Vita and the PSTV is that the latter has system-defined limitations as to what games can be played on it.

The short answer is I don’t know for sure since I don’t own a copy of J-Stars Victory Vs from any region, including Japan. A short google search seems to indicate a patch was released to make it compatible, and afaik all patches from all region games are downloadable to any PSTV.

Also, this site lists it as compatible: http://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/167144/game-compatibility-list

If you have both I don’t see why you didn’t try it already yourself, and confirm it for the list. Also after doing a short search myself I can’t confirm that Japan ever got the “+” version of the game only other regions.

          • Newbie

Thanks for the info. I just bought the game and its working fine. Im so happy now ,this is my first game in my pstv. I was asking earlier because i dont have it and now i bought it. So happy..thanks..sorry for my bad english..

New PSTV hack out that lets users play theoretically any game from the Vita library. Unfortunately there’s very little info out on it aside from the method to do it. I’m waiting until I hear whether it’s permanent or not, hope to hear soon as some import games are in low supply.

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

No problem at all. I spent most of yesterday testing for it. Here’s a list of games that I’ve found to now work with it as well as games that still don’t work with it. Games that I own, anyways.

      http://reviews2go.com/my-findings-on-hack-informers-pstv-compatibility-exploit/

      • alterku

Thanks for the work, but this is going to get confusing eventually with multiple lists and which firmware versions support which games. Hope Sony just lets this stuff slide.

        • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

It’s been that way since the beginning. I’m waiting for Sony to likely patch this exploit before I try to contact their PR again and suggest dropping the white-list.

Not that I think they’ll listen. But I’ll still give it a go since I do have PR relations with them.

Your game version/region is different from your PSN account region.

      • Newbie

Ok. My psn account is US And my game jstars is region 3, thats why i cant redeem the code. i will register a new psn then.

  • alterku

Reminder to all of you who managed to perform the whitelist hack to NOT update your PS TV to 3.55 as they patched the method to enable it. Found a reddit thread confirming it, though I cannot personally verify it as I don’t want to risk losing access to any of my games by updating. Heard about a tool called Vita Update Blocker which I’ll look into which may allow some network access without updating firmware.

  • Ahamkara

Coded Arms for PSP works and isn’t on the list. I have it working on my PS TV right now.

  • ZheljeTBD

is it possible gta v to be in the list cause i have the product download code for ps4 and i cannot play the game because i don’t have a ps4 but i have a pstv and i would really like it to be in the list please and thank you.

    • alterku

You’re completely misunderstanding the point of this list. It is for Vita or Vita playable games only that are natively playable on the PSTV. Any PS4 game that you stream to your Vita/PSTV is not being played on the Vita, it is being streamed. When you stream a game your Vita/PSTV basically becomes the controller and screen for the game that is playing on your PS4.

North America (the region this list is set with) is the only region I know of that currently doesn’t support the Crash games.

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

I’m afraid not. I’ve transferred them onto a PSTV via PS3 Transfer like you can do with the Vita, but they currently will not launch on the PSTV.

      • Lissandro

oww… too bad, that would make PS TV perfect to me. Well, I can still play Parasite Eve, Final Fantsy X/X-2 and God of War so that’s ok 🙂

Hi, I’m sorry to keep asking things… but suikoden I and II are not in the store for PS TV compatible games, If I buy from the store site the “PSOne Classic” version of both, will I be able to play on my PS TV?

        • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

Yup. The PSTV section on the PC Store isn’t all that accurate, nor is the pSTV’s version of the store. If you buy a compatible game, you can download them via the PSTV’s Download List. Aside from PS3 Transfer titles, but Suikoden and its sequel aren’t among those games.

  • Konan

Just brought a PS TV yesterday, was regretting the purchase when I read so many vita games are not playable on it, then I found this list, it has given me great hope.

Do I need to do the whitelist patch to get all the games listed here to work?

Also, I downloaded some games last night off PSN and I cannot get the L1 R1 touch control to work? Do I need to use a DS4 controller or am I doing something wrong with my DS3?

    Thanks!

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

This list only contains games the work legit. No white-list patch required.

Also, if you can’t get the touch controls to work, it’s L3/R3 and hold down the PlayStation Button to make sure it’s enabled. On the menu that pops up, there should be a feature called “Use Touch Pointer in Games”. Make sure the box next to that has a check.

      • Konan

Thank you so much for the touch control tip!

I brought 3 physical copy of vita games today, 2 were on this list and they worked fine, 1 was not and did not work.

        So I am extremely happy.

SONY should pay you and post this list on their site and fix PSNm no idea why they want to kill their own product with misinformation!

Thanks to your hard work, I like the PS TV a lot more now!

Is there any way to get wwe smackdown vs raw 2011 working or is it non compatible ?

    • Aaron The Dragon

      It would help a lot

      • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

It’s something I’ve not tested yet because I do not own it. It’s compatible with the Vita so as far as I know, it should be compatible, but I’ve yet to see anyone say anything concrete about it.

  • carmai12 .

Does Monster Hunter Frontier G need a japanese ip address to run on the ps tv?

  • Stealthbat

I hope that Mortal Kombat: Unchained for PSP makes it to this list. I would buy a Playstation TV just to play that game alone!

  • Bradley

I just found this awesome list/site, and decided to go back through my list of games I once though did/didn’t work on the PS TV to see if they were updated. Here’s a few PS Minis that do work on NA PS TVs now that aren’t on this list:

BABEL The King of the Blocks
    Hero of Sparta
    Kaleidoscope
    Stick Man Rescue
The 2D Adventures of Rotating Octopus Character

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

Thanks. I’ll add these titles to the list tonight.

  • Bradley

I’ve also imported some Japanese Vita games recently, here’s a few that work on NA PS TVs that aren’t on this list:

`& ‘- To Bloom in the Next Empty (‘&’ -空の向こうで咲きますように‐)
    Dekamori Senran Kagura (Bon Appetit!)
Haiyore! Nyaruko-San: Nafushigatai Game no You na Mono
    Time Travelers

  • Louis

Does Tales of Hearts R still work? Why does it say November?

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

It does still work not says November because I originally made this list before the release of Hearts R

  • megapowered

i just bought Capcom Classics Collection: Reloaded from the web store and on my playstation tv is says i can’t download it cause it’s not compatible, so is this list wrong?

    • Sapph

No, it’s just that both “Capcom Classics” games have to be transferred from a PS3. Yeah, Sony is stupid like that.

  • JimR

    Hi,

Is Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth the American Version going to be compatible with the PS TV?

    Thank you

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

I’ve not yet tested the American version but once I do I’ll let you know. Since the Japanese version does work the American version probably will. But I’ll clarify once I get a copy of the game.

      • JimR

        Hi Trent,

        Okay thank you.

      • JimR

        Hi Trent,

I just wanted to let you know that Digimon Cyber Sleuth works with PSTV!

        Thank you

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

Just tested and confirmed that the American version is compatible 🙂

  • Irrational

Will odin sphere Leifthrasir NA version work with PSTV?

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

Still working on getting that info from Atlus. Will let you know when I find out.

      • Irrational

        Any word on it?

        • Vivi Le Pham

they said it should be compatible with ps tv.

  • PersonaTexas

I dont have an HDMI TV. Is it possible to just get an HDMI 2 AV adaptor to make it work on a Standard Definition TV? I saw that the Playstation TV has 480p available, and got people like “Pff…why even bother having 480p”, and I was all like “Well, because if an HDMI 2 AV would work then it could be for those who dont have an HDMI TV”..Also…do I have to hook it up to an HDMI TV first, because I heard something about HDCP and is that a problem OR is that for people who want to capture the screen….in which I have no plans to do, I just want to play it on my Standard TV.

    • CleruTesh

I bought a Semlos HDMI2AV adapter from Amazon to hook up to an old CRT. It did work, and you can even power the adapter off the PSTV USB port. Unfortunately, there is no way to change aspect ratio. So if you use it with 4:3 TV, everything is stretched vertically. Kinda annoying. Even more annoying with PS1 games, as they will have black bars on the side and be stretched vertically!
If you have a non-HDMI HDTV/EDTV, then the aspect ratio should be fine, but you won’t actually be getting a 480p signal it will be output in 480i. You might be better off with a DVI or VGA adapter if that’s what your TV supports, but I have no experience with these.
I don’t know much about HDCP, but I think it applies more to movies than games. If you just plan to use it for games, I doubt it will be an issue.

Hi, I just wanted to thank you for this list, the PSTV is how im playing Digimon Cyber Sleuth and I wanted to let you know Ad Hoc works between a Vita and PSTV incase you did not know 🙂

  • DCeric

Hey just wanted to know if you could use PC transfer instead of PS3 with Media Go?

  • DCeric

I can’t get PS Now or Crackle to work isn’t even compatible anymore?

  • WeirdG

Wow…. this is a brutal list. I own just over 30 physical copies of PS Vita games, and about half of them won’t work with PSTV. Looks like I’ll be doing the whitelist hack.

These are the games that potentially won’t work:

    Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation
Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified
    FIFA Soccer
    Gravity Rush
    Hot Shots Golf World Invitational
    Hotline Miami Collected Edition???
LittleBigPlanet: PSVITA – Marvel Super Hero Edition
    Metal Gear Solid HD Collection
    ModNation Racers: Road Trip
    PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale
    Rayman Legends
    Super Monkey Ball: Banana Splitz
Virtua Tennis 4: World Tour Edition
    Wipeout 2048
    The Wolf Among Us
    WRC4

  • Zymesh

    just an update.
ff games need to be ps3 transferred.
    – Castlevania Chronicles
    – Command & Conquer: Red Alert
    – Silent Hill
got the during this months flash sale and al 3 are not available via PSTV/VITA store app was able to play them though after transfer

  • Sapph

“XCOM: Enemy Unknown Plus” just dropped onto PSN. Can you verify if it’s Vita TV compatible?

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

I do not own the game to test. But I did see a topic on Reddit this week that said it isn’t.

  • malbhet

Will the us release of Grand Kingdom vita version be compatible with playstation TV, or is it just the Japanese version?

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

I’ve not received word on the US release yet, so the only version we know for sure is compatible is the Japanese version.

  • DCeric

Capcom Classics Collection: Reloaded for PSP needs to be transferred from PS3 to PSTV. I’m not 100% but I can’t download it from the PSTV store so that would be my only answer for it to be transferred by PS3.

    • Zymesh

same with the Remix. needs ps3 transfer. I have both

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

You should be able to download chronicles directly from your download list in the PlayStation store app on the PSTV. Content manager transfers shouldn’t be required for it.

  • Amon Ra Moore

How about One Piece: Burning Blood?
Any word on that working on PSTV?

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

I’ve asked Namco about that and waiting for a reply back

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

Sorry for the wait. Yes, Burning Blood is compatible.

  • Shishio Makoto

Does the Japanese version of Criminal Girls 2 work on PSTV? I’m talking about an Imported Physical Copy.

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

      Yes, it does.

  • JMacTucker

So you’ve officially confirmed Digimon World Cyber Sleuth for Vita works? I was considering the PSTV a cheaper option to acquire that game.

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

Yep I’ve used it on my PSTV plenty of times without issue

      • JMacTucker

So do you have to run the hack to play it or did you just DL it from the store?

        • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

No. Everything in this list you can play legit without the exploit. Just download it from the store and you’re good to go.

  • Trevor D

Add Netflix. I have that on mine as of yesterday.

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

Is your system hacked with the Mail exploit? Just tried on mine. Refreshed. Redownloaded. Refreshed again. No dice

      • Trevor D

Ahh crap. I downloaded and the icon was on the desktop and then I tried to boot it up. Sorry stupid mistake. Man Sony needs to get it’s crap together with this PSTV. Why start projects and not see them through, Vita, PSPGo, PSTV and etc. All I want is Netflix, Vue and for Vita games to just work.

        • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

That is the unfortunate thing about the way Sony handles their stores . But it is definitely compatible.

For how it looks, here’s a vid I uploaded today of it running on the PSTV.

Hi. I see that Persona 4: Dancing All Night is listed here. However, is there a difference between physical & digital versions?

Because on the PS Store, it’s not listed under Games for Vita TV. So I’m afraid that the game will only work with physical version and not the digital version. Or do all games listed here that work on physical will also work on digital as well?

    • http://reviews2go.com/ Trent Berlinger

Both should work fine. The list of Vita TV games on PSN is not very accurate and never has been. I can personally confirm that the digital version works, as that is what version I played.
